While our team plannedn to go "all Belgian" an unexpected opportunity appeared.
Curt Stahl, a 30 year, 48 AV rider was available on the transfer list for race value. Given his stats he seemed to be excellent TM to support De Keijsere in our new squad.
However, the surprise became even bigger when our team noticed that Curt isn't even maxed. With unmaxed potential in DH, FR, TT (and perhaps even TQ), Curt could be a great tour contender.
Yes, he is already 30 years old, so most people might argue he is not worth training.
Yet, given that he was obtained at RV and that training him a maximum of 20 points on his remaining stats won't cost that much, our team decided to go for it. He might have two to three years left as a tour captain so we will see what the future brings.

I would have hired him if I saw him first. ;-)
Thank you. I was quite surprised when I saw him sitting on the hire list. I immediately purchased him because a guy like that would not have been there long.
I just saw your rider. He's even a better bargain than mine! Given his age, he might even hit 80 in FR or TT before he turns 30. Given that he wasn't send to TT-center, I imagine that his previous team didn't use different trainers on him as well.
Great TT-er, LO and tour contender (for certain tours).
Congrats!
Congrats on the hire. I just hired a killer TT guy off the hire list myself. He came maxed with 230 points in the TT skills. I TT centered him to get him up to 235 TT points. He's so good that he would be a great LO1 and I'm thinking about building a sprint team around him he's that good. Or I could wait 30 days and get 2 times what I paid in an auction sale. Wow!!!
